The
Infamous Bell Witch of Tennessee |
The
Infamous Bell Witch of Tennessee
by Charles Edwin Price
Super!,
Anyone who has an interest in Tennessee's most famous ghost should check
out this book. It takes a long and complicated story and breaks the
facts down in a clear and easy to read way. I have read several of Mr.
Price's books and this is by far the best. We even get an update of
"Kate's" activities into the 1990's.

The
Trickster and the Paranormal |
The
Trickster and the Paranormal by
George P. Hansen
Difficult, but worth the effort,
September 19, 2002
Amazon reviewer
Anyone who has studied paranormal phenomena
knows how maddening they can be. Whether you're talking about
apparitions, UFOs or anything in between, the phenomena have an elusive,
always-just-out-of-reach quality. Jacques Vallee and others have
suggested that paranormal phenomena may be part of a "control
system" - intentionally inexplicable carrots dangled in front of us
by Someone or Something to instill a sense of wonder and keep us
thinking and evolving. This "trickster" quality of the
phenomena themselves is what I had assumed this book would be about, but
it's actually much broader in scope.

Hauntings & Horrors: The Ultimate Guide to Spooky America

Hauntings
& Horrors: The Ultimate Guide to Spooky America
by Daniel Cohen, Susan Cohen
Excerpt Editorial Reviews
From Booklist
Daniel Cohen, known for
his many books on supernatural phenomena, returns to the subject in his
latest title, written with his wife. This time, however, the result is a
little different--a travelogue of reputedly haunted places across
America, complete with notes about location and, sometimes, a resource
address or phone number. To make it even easier for travelers, the Cohen's
have organized the sites by region. The Northeast and the South seem to
fare best, home to more than half of the 101 places described. Stephanie

Ghosts!: Personal Accounts of Modern Mississippi Hauntings
|
Ghosts!: Personal Accounts of Modern Mississippi Hauntings
By Sylvia Booth Hubbard, Robert Hubbard (Photographer)
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
Here is an intriguing collection of true stories
about ordinary people who have the extraordinary experience of sharing
their lives with ghosts! In
Ghosts! Personal Accounts of Modern Mississippi Hauntings, author Sylvia
Hubbard takes a realistic approach to a supernatural subject, and her
very lack of exaggeration or tabloid sensationalism makes these
authentic accounts all the more chilling. From antebellum mansions to
modern suburbs, here are twenty-five true stories of active Mississippi
ghosts, chronicled by the people who know them best—those who actually
live and work amidst these disembodied spirits on a daily basis.
Evocative photographs by Robert Hubbard,
taken at the site of the hauntings, illustrate the book. These starkly
beautiful black and white pictures, with no artificial special effects
to mar their power, capture the aura of the ghostly settings.
Within these pages, in their own
words, are real stories...from real people...about real Ghosts!

Coast To Coast Ghosts
|
Coast
To Coast Ghosts by
Leslie Rule
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
An employee of the St. James Hotel in New Mexico watches in shock as
a fair-haired toddler with a terribly disfigured face disappears into
the floor. This is just one of the paranormal mysteries Leslie Rule
shares with us - a result of extensive interviews and research
uncovering the reasons behind ghost sightings across the country. Coast
To Coast Ghosts features dozens of spine-tingling, real-life ghost
stories and approximately 50 black-and-white photographs taken by Rule
of haunted sites from Seattle to San Diego and from New Orleans to Key
West. According to a 1990 Gallup poll, one in four Americans believe in
ghosts, up from one in ten in 1978. Today, one in ten report they've
actually seen a ghost.
